Duo Held Over Cable Theft

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two locals in their early thirties were yesterday ordered to be remanded at the BSB Central Police Station on allegations of committing theft.

In the Magistrate's Court, Ibrahim Tassan and Damit Hj Bungsu were charged with stealing electrical cables from an electrical sub-station at Setia Kenangan Complex in Kiulap on January 23, 2004 at about 3.30 pro with another person still at large.

No plea was taken yesterday.

Prosecuting Officer Mohammad Esnawi Hj Sharbawi told Magistrate Dk Nor Ismayanti Pg Hj Ismail that the defendants are being remanded as police needed to conduct further investigation.
