Anti Drug Billboard Goes Up Over
Kampong Ayer
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Although renowned for its uniqueness, Kampong Ayer is
keeping abreast with the tide of development in particular in the era
of technological sophistication.
Among the obvious new changes, taking
place, in the water village is the setting up of a Prisma
advertisement billboard.
The Prisma billboard is erected in
front of Kampong Pandai Besi just opposite the jetty of Sultan Haji
Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation in the capital.
The increasing numbers of billboard
adverts are designed specifically to draw the attention of passers.
The latest one over Kampong Ayer is one of them.
But this one over Brunei’s
picturesque water village is something new and rare.
Installed by the Sunlit Advertising
Sendirian Berhad, the billboard was set up with the approval of the
Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board.
People who spend their time at the
Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation jetty across the billboard
will be able to absorb the message it carries.
With its sign saying 'Melangkah Jauh
Tanpa Dadah' or 'Going Forward Without Drugs', it has a deep meaning
for people who view the board.
The billboard not only attracts the
attention of water taxi fares.
Indonesian worker, Suyanto Mohamad
Poor likes to spend his free time viewing picturesque Kampong Ayer.
He said the sign from the billboard
has deep meaning and it is a reminder to the public of the
government's concern in ensuring the country is free from the menace
of drugs.
There are more than twelve billboards
in various parts in the country.
With the rapid changes and high
quality technology, the Municipal Board has no option but to keep
abreast with progress in introducing the concept of signboards into a
more interesting, modern and sophisticated ways.
The board also aims to update the
installation of conventional advertisement to a more interesting and
