It Is Murder Says The Police But Who Is She?

Bandar Seri Begawan - The discovery of skeletal remains in a shrub in Kg. Kupang on Monday has been classified as murder, according to the Royal Brunei Police Force.

DSP Pg Zaidi B. Pg. Hj Metali, the Head Special Investigation Unit, said the decomposed body, which was found by two teenagers on the look out for mushrooms, is believed to be of either a young Indonesian woman or a Filipina.

"Based on the report on the remains from the pathologist, the body must have been there for about six months and it is believed that the woman was murdered somewhere else and dumped in the thicket.

"We treat this case as murder. However, the police is yet to be approached by a witness and we are still working on the case," he said.

Meanwhile the Special Investigation Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force revealed that the remains belonged to a woman 25 years old and between four feet 11 inch and five feet two inch tall. The woman sported short hair dyed yellowish brown and wore a hair clip.

She was believed to have worn a long sleeve white t-shirt and 36-size 'Rosalinda'-brand pink slippers.

Also found in the shrub were a black skirt, white underwear, a light brown shirt and a brown hair clip.

The police said that a pathology officer at the Ministry of Health made the identification.

All the evidence has been sent to the Ministry of Health scientific laboratory for further examination.

The police are seeking public assistance in solving the mystery findings.

Anyone who has any information may contact DSP Pg. Zaidi B. Pg. Hj Metali, Head of Special Investigation Unit of the Special Investigation Department, Police Headquarters in Gadong, at 2459500 - extension 518,110 or 287.
