The blocked drain

Deputy District Officer, Awg Wardi bin Hj Mohamad Ali, and several officials from the Public Works Department involved in road maintenance made visits to several flood-prone areas. Among the places they visited is the road between Telisai and Sungai Paku.

Village Head of Telisai, Awang Mohd Jun, who also went to the site, said that the "drain and stream which channel water to the sea were blocked because a sand extraction company no longer operates and the heavy rainfall especially at the end of last year, caused a landslide at the foothill and sand erosion".

A resident in the area appealed to the authorities to take the necessary action.
