First Time Drug Offender Fined For ‘Icy’ Consumption

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 38-year-old local man Hj Ghazali Hj Yahya was fined $2,300 or four months jail in default when he pleaded guilty to consuming ‘ice’ and having in his possession drug apparatus.

The defendant, a first offender, was fined $1,500 or 3 months imprisonment for consuming the Class A controlled drug, Methylamphetamine. He was further fined $800 or one month’s jail in default for having drug utensils, said the NCB Prosecutor, Pg Othman Pg Hj Ali.

He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau officers on November 18, 2000 at house No 762-D Kg Serdang in Jalan Kota Batu. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
