Volunteer Aid Detachment of Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society have urged the public, including expatriates, to come forward and help by becoming members of its uniform body.

According to Ms Elizabeth Chiew Yun Fung, Assistant Secretary General of BDRCS and appointed as Focal Person of Disaster Preparedness and Response Team, the invitation is not only open to youths but also pensioners in the country.

Their services and participation are most welcomed for sharing talents and knowledge with other professionals in the team.

"We are inviting every non-governmental organisation and national society to join two categories; namely Committed to 24-hour Disaster Emergency Response Team and Free Leisure to its activities.

"They are under the four services of Disaster Preparedness, Training and Development, Welfare and Community Services as well as First Aid and Health Care."

"It is not open to students as they are already in under schools' ECA," she added.

"We will be coordinated and cooperative to act, help, contribute, organise, educate, promote, strive, recruit and strengthen in achieving main goals through team spirit," she remarked.

Forms are obtainable at several selected shops throughout the country.
