UBD hosts AGBEP meeting

Member countries of the Asean
Graduate Business/Economics Programme (AGBEP) Network discussed and
reviewed progress report on its student and faculty exchange program
at its 4th annual meeting yesterday morning.
The meeting gathered scholars and
academia of various universities from respective Asean countries with
the objective to internationalise and improve the quality of the AUN
Member Universities' graduate business and economics programmes.
The University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD)
hosted this one-day meeting for the first time, said Dr Hj Ismail Hj
Duraman, Vice Chancellor of UBD during his welcoming remarks yesterday
morning at the Centrepoint Hotel.
Amongst others, he hoped that the
meeting would achieve the objectives and give room to exchange ideas,
as well as to work on the employment of activities for members.
Present yesterday were the AUN Deputy
Executive Director, Professor Dr Nantana Gajaseni and co-Chairmen of
AGBEP, Professor Dr Marwan Asri from the Gadjah Mada University and Dr
Ronny Muntoro from Universitas Indonesia, who on behalf of the
Chairman of AGEB, Professor Bambang Sudibyo from Gadjah Mada
University, gave a brief speech.
AGBEP
Network has undertaken cost-sharing activities, namely; student and
faculty exchange programmes, providing opportunities for students and
faculties to learn from other network members, joint research and
publication programme for resources sharing and research collaboration
and annual symposium for updating the implementation of each activity
and discussing issues concerning the improvement of the network.
Yesterday's meeting concludes today
and covered topics on progress reports on the implementation of AGBEP
network activities on student and faculty exchange programme and AUN
Collaborative Research Programme - 'Development and Performance of
Mutual Funds in Five Asean Countries'.
