Emphatic Brunei Victory In A Very
Convincing Performance

Begawan - The Brunei team scored an easy 6-3 win over Sabah in
a friendly soccer match at the Youth and Sports complex in Berakas
last night, in front of an appreciative audience which included His
Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pg Mluda Hj Al Muhtadee Billah and YAM
Pg Dato Hj Abd Rahim.
Brunei led by 2-0 in the first half
Mohd Brian Iman Bothwell opened the scoring a few minutes of into the
match, While Fadlin Galawat notched the second late in the half.
The second half of the game was an
absolute thriller, marked by an avalanche of goals. Sabah closed the
gap over Brunei, thanks to a 55th minute goal by Marlon James. They
threatened to run riot after scoring two more goal but Brunei finished
well ahead with four goals of their own to cap an emphatic win, in a
very convincing performance ahead of their Premier League campaign.
The Brunei team manager, Hj Abd Razak
Hj Ibrahim, was delighted by his team's showing. "I have high
expectations of the team as they will be playing several other matches
in preparation for the upcoming competition."
An indication of the quality of the
win last night was the fact that Sabah fielded five import players for
the game. Meanwhile, a number of overseas players will be trying out
for the Brunei team this week, sources said.
