Jefri Bolkiah College Gets Environment-Friendly Refrigerants

Bandar Seri Begawan – A local company presented five FR-12 cylinders, an environment-friendly refrigerant, to the Jefri Bolkiah College of Engineering yesterday.

The local company, Syarikat Perniagaan Entradco, made the first such contribution to the college, specifically for the Air-refrigeration section.

The FR-12 contribution costs about $290 each cylinder. FR-12 is replacing the R-12 refrigerant known to be harmful to the environment and dangerous to our health.

This effort is Replacing R-12 refrigerant is currently being implemented in the country as an effort in line with the call by His Majesty's Government to keep the environment clean and healthy.

The refrigerant FR-12 has so many advantages compared to the previous R-12.

Among the benefits include the fact that it does not contribute to global warming and does not deplete the Ozone layer.

FR-12 is widely used in refrigerators and car air-cons and the replacement does not require any special replacing parts.
