Penghulus Briefed On Kampong
Borders

Begawan – A briefing aimed at updating and determining the
limit areas of villages and mukims was held for the benefit of
penghulus and ketua kampong in the Brunei-Muara District yesterday.
Pengiran
Haji Metussin Bin Pengiran Haji Metassan, Surveyor General, delivered
the talk during a briefing held at the district office in Berakas.
The session dealt with updating
border position of mukims and kampongs in all the four districts,
observing and planning of suitable borders for kampongs and mukims,
preparing guidelines to be used as specification in determining
borders for mukims and kampongs as well as discerning and evaluating
public complaints from time to time regarding the limit line of mukims
and kampongs.
According to Pengiran Haji Metussin
the Survey Department also will relocate and update the position of
such borders in maps on completion of surveys.
Border signposts will also be put up
by the district office, marking the land area in accordance with the
data provided by the Survey Department.
The Surveyor General explained that
the survey of setting of borderlines for mukims and kampongs entailed
precise considerations taking into account such as the hill terrain,
rivers, compatibility of residence and the effect of history, to name
a few.
The Survey Department organized the
talk for the penghulus and ketua kampongs of Brunei-Muara District.
