‘Portraits of Angola' at Alliance
Francaise
By CT Hj Mahmod

Mr Thierry Borja de Mozota views the works of Franck Maes at last
night's Gallette des rois.
Alliance francaise de Brunei last
night held a brief "Gallette des rois" gathering to launch a new
series of exhibits featured throughout the year.
The exhibition called "Portraits of
Angola" showcased the works of Franck Maes, who took photographs of
the sceneries and people during his four-year stay in Angola before he
came to Brunei. Mr Maes currently works at Total as an engineer.
His works were once exhibited in
Luanda. And now Alliance francaise is inviting people to discover some
of the faces of this African country. The exhibition will run until
February 13 at the Alliance francaise de Brunei office along Jln Muara.
Present at last night's gathering was
the French Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary, Mr Thierry
Borja de Mozota. Also present last night was Mr Jose Frietaz Crus, who
recently opened Art Forum Brunei 2004 last week.
Alliance francaise de Brunei was
formed with the association of Bruneian and French partners in the
promotion of French interest and culture in Brunei to promote better
understanding between the people of Brunei, France and other nations.
