Two Foreign Workers Nabbed For Immigration Offence

Kuala Belait - Nearly 300 foreign nationals in the Belait District were put under scrutiny in the latest operation of two law enforcement agencies to curb illegal immigrants.

The joint operation codenamed 'Buru Tiga' involved more than 30 immigration and police officers.

During the operation, 278 foreign workers from India, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Malaysia in five targeted places were checked.

The law enforcement officers made two arrests after they failed to produce their immigration pass.

The raids, which started at 11pm Wednesday night, lasted for four hours.

Such operation will be continued to ensure that the country is free from illegal immigrants and other illegal acts. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
