Last 150 Haj Pilgrims Leave Brunei For Holy City

Bandar Seri Begawan - The last group of Brunei’s Haj pilgrims comprising about 150 people has arrived in Jeddah and is on the way to Medina.

The pilgrims left for Mecca at about 8pm. They were registered with a private Haj package.

Hundreds of relatives and friends were at the Brunei International Airport to bid the pilgrims farewell.

More than 1,400 people left Brunei for Haj this year.

Before embarking the plane, the pilgrims performed the maghrib prayer at the airport's departure hall.

Refreshments were also provided.

The first flight of returning pilgrims is scheduled to be back on February 8, 2004. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
