Three Locals Fined, One Jailed For Drug Offences

Kuala Belait – The Kuala Belait Magistrates Court yesterday sentenced four local men for their involvement in drug-related activities.

Awangku Adi Kamarul Zaman Bin Pengiran Bungsu and Hanafiah Hi Safar, both aged 25, were each fined $1,000 or to serve a two month prison sentence, in default, for consuming the controlled drug methylamphetamine.

The Magistrate Court also fined Hashim Bin Hi Mohd Deli, $1,500 or in default, two months imprisonment.

He was arrested on July 30, 2003 by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers in Kuala Belait.

Haris Bin Hj Daud, 39, was sentenced to four years imprisonment for the consumption of the controlled drug methylamphetamine. He was arrested on March 2003. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
