The Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in Seria yesterday morning received an official visit from 73 members of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW).

The visiting group are in the country to attend the 7th ACWW Area Conference for South East Asia and the Far East, which is being held at the International Convention Centre (ICC). The conference commenced on January 11 and will draw to a close this Sunday.

The ACWW members were greeted upon arrival by Mr Neville Petrie, the Head of OGDC along with other senior officials of the centre.

The visit started off with a briefing by Mr Neville Petrie, who touched on the roles and objectives of the OGDC centre. He also highlighted some of the previous activities organised at the centre as well as projects that OGDC plans to undertake in future.

After the briefing, the group, who was led by Mrs Hilda Stewart, the World President of ACWW, toured the exhibition hall.

Some 10,000 people visited the centre last year. OGDC was officially opened by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in September 2002.
