Ezuriman The Fastest Karter
Bandar Seri
Begawan - In a major boost to the Go-Kart community in Brunei,
the 100cc Yamaha Class race debuted in Brunei on Sunday January 11 at
the Jerudong Park Kart Track with some of Brunei's top karters on hand
to provide an exciting start to this new event.
After the dust had settled Ezuriman
Abdul Rahman proved to be the fastest of them all as after claiming
pole position for the finals, he led comfortably from start to finish
to claim the checkered flag.
Ezurirman's
win in the second heat set him up for a dominating win amidst some
fierce competition as he proved to be a class apart from the rest of
the field.
But that did not mean that there was
no excitement as the race for second and third proved to be a
thrilling battle throughout the heats and final.
Jake Gob faced some stiff resistance
in the heats from both Law Fung Kin and John Zhang but after
displaying an admirable combination of both attacking and defending
driving, he deservedly notched second place.
Finishing in third place and showing
off some incredibly determined driving, Hamdani Hj Mohammad had spun
off in the second heat to drop him back to the middle of the grid for
the final.
But he had not notched the fastest
time of the day for nothing as he fought back fiercely to claim the
third and final podium spot overtaking some of Brunei's more
established karters along the way.
Despite debuting in Brunei for the
first time, the organisers of the race were thrilled with the outcome
as it gave the newcomers a chance to shine against some of the more
experienced karters in the nation, giving them an intense battle
throughout the heats and final.
The organisers have already begun to
put into motion the next race scheduled for February which will
feature the more powerful 100cc air-cooled and water-cooled class,
also planned for the Jerudong Park Kart Track.
