March 19 date for gun-toting local

The case of the 60-year-old local man who was arrested on Friday two
weeks ago for having in his possession two rifles at his house in
Temburong was adjourned to two months pending an expert’s report.
He will appear in the courthouse on
the March 19 for further mentioned. Currently, the defendant was
released on $3,000 court bail and two local sureties.
Menchok
Anak Tarang, who works at the Water Pump Station with the Public Works
Department in Temburong District, faces a charge of having one rifle
measuring 1.33-metre long and another rifle measuring 1.18-m long at
his house at No. 1143, Kampong Sumbiling Baru, Jalan Batang Duri in
Temburong.
The defendant was arrested during a
raid by the Bangar Police Station on his house where the officers
found the rifles hidden in the ceiling of the house besides a few
cartons of alcohol which were hidden in his storeroom.
