RBAF In Search Of Motivated, High
Disciplined Men
Bandar Seri
Begawan – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces is in need of men and
women who are qualified, motivated, with high discipline and have
vision to get involved in a challenging army career.
This search is prompted by the rapid
progress, which the RBAF has gone through, either in terms of human
workforce and technology.
Lieutenant Colonel Napiah Bin Haji
Paijan, Director of Personnel and Administration of RBAF, made this
remark at a function for future cadet officers and men recruits of the
holding platoon of 124th intake yesterday.
He also stressed that various
personnel will conduct the selection of future recruits so that the
selection process is well arranged, effective and fair.
He said the applicants would be given
the opportunity to undergo several tests and interviews aimed at
evading the assumption that the Royal Brunei Armed Forces practices
nepotism in its selection system.
Applicants will also be given the
option to choose the unit they wish to work for.
But, Lieutenant Colonel Napiah said
not all their choices will be entertained because their applications
will be based on their qualifications and interviews.
During the six-month training, the
recruits will be adapted to the basic values of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces apart from undergoing basic military training.
The basic values are loyalty,
respect, professionalism, courage, sacrifice and friendship.
The values will be the means of
holding for all recruits to support their respective role to serve
loyally besides upholding the religion, the monarchy, and the nation.
A total of 150 future men recruits,
including one future cadet officer have been selected to undergo
recruit training for the 124th intake.
At an earlier stage of selection, a
total of 925 people have registered for the intake.
The men recruits had already been
assigned to the various units of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Some 140 recruits are now working
with the land force, five recruits at the air force and four with the
service force. Not one recruit was assigned to the navy due to the
unavailability of post.
All the future recruits will begin
their training on February 2. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
