Vocational Schools Train But Won’t Find Jobs For Students

Seria – Vocational schools will train technical students but would not be responsible to find jobs for them.

Awang Haji Ramli, acting principal Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School, said this yesterday in his talk on job opportunities for students while undergoing attachment.

The schools can only provide skill training and it is up to the students to find suitable jobs based on their qualification.

In government efforts to provide industrial skill, industrial training has been offered to local students either by technical college or vocational schools.

During the course, students are able to perform their skills and the agencies where they are undergoing training may eventually employ them.

The Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School in Seria received 88 new students in its 15th intake.

A total of eight courses are offered ranging from National Trade Certificate to National Vocational Certificate. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
