Baby Found Abandoned At Hospital Rubbish Dump

Bandar Seri Begawan - A baby was found abandoned in a box at a rubbish dump in the RIPAS Hospital yesterday.

The baby boy, believed to be around one to two weeks old, was wearing just a diaper when two cleaners at the hospital stumbled upon him near the morgue around 6.19 am.

The cleaners, startled by the discovery, immediately reported the matter to the security department, who then contacted the police and a doctor at the hospital.

The Bulletin was informed that the baby was admitted to the ICU but was later transferred to the children's ward.

A spokesperson from the Bandar Seri Begawan Police Station confirmed the report. He said the baby boy was found around 6.25am.

According to him the report made by the security at RIPAS Hospital stated that the baby was alive and was only wearing diapers when the two cleaners found him.

No one has come forward to claim the baby who is in a stable condition, it was learnt.
