AEMC Set To Discuss Changes

Begawan - Asean-EC Management will be organising its first
seminar for 2004 from January 20-21.
The seminar, entitled "Managing
Organisational Change-Leveraging the E-Initiatives", will be conducted
with the knowledge that change management is the key subject to
consider during the implementation of any e-initiative strategy.
It also acts as a response to the
feedback provided by participants of the conference on K-economy,
organised by the centre in October last year.
According to a press release, the
programme will leverage the current e-government initiatives as
discussion points to facilitate application to `real world' change
initiatives.
The objectives of the programme are:
to understand the nature and theories of change; to change management
process of e-business implementations; to understand obstacles to
change; to learn how to communicate the change and deal with resistors
to change; and to transform change to opportunity.
The seminar is expected to be
participated by heads of departments as well as senior executives and
officials from public and private sectors.
The press release also stated that
AEMC had invited P. Palaniappan to conduct the course. Palaniappan is
an experienced consultant in training, consulting project management,
leadership, strategic management and change management for companies
with regional operations in Asia Pacific and Indonesian State
Government.
The key topics that will be delivered
by Palaniappan include: nature of change; business changes; and
triggers of business change.
Registration fee for the course is
$330, including seminar materials and refreshments.
There will be a 10 per cent discount
for those who register before January 15, while AEMC Survey
respondents will receive a 25 per cent discount.
