Parents Urged To Send Kids To
Registered Tuition Schools
By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The action of a few teachers encouraging students to
take extra lessons after school, as well as charging them tuition
fees, had infuriated some parents.
Although these teachers did not force
their students to attend the extra classes, which were held at the
teachers' accommodation, worried parents had to comply just in case
the teachers purposely reserved valuable lessons for extra classes.
The Ministry of Education meanwhile
advised parents to send their children to registered tuition schools
that are available in several commercial areas in and around the
capital.
"We have not received any such
complaints from parents so far but we would advise them to send their
children for extra tuition at various approved private tuition
schools," an officer said.
