Close Scrutiny On Sars
By Azlan Othman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Brunei health authorities are scanning arrivals at
the Brunei International Airport as a precaution against any SARS
arrival.
Authorities speaking to the Bulletin
said they have not stopped monitoring arrivals from the last time the
epidemic broke in the region.
All passengers arriving into the
sutanate still fill up a health form and pass through thermal scanners
which would detect any change in body temperature.
AP reports from Malaysia Saturday
meanwhile said it will screen people arriving from Hong Kong to
prevent the spread of SARS, after a man in the Chinese territory was
suspected of having the illness.
Travellers
will have their body temperatures taken and be questioned, Malaysia
Health Minister Chua Jui Meng was cited as saying by The New Straits
Times newspaper. A health ministry official, speaking on condition of
anonymity, confirmed the directive.
