New Roundabout At Muara Now Open For Traffic

Bandar Seri Begawan – The new roundabout at Jalan Sungai Akar and Muara is now open for road users.

With the opening of the roundabout, the traffic lights on the former cross-junction were disconnected.

The roundabout is part of the project to widen Jalan Subok scheduled to be completed in May 2004.

The project was aimed at upgrading the quality of the road.

Under the Eighth National Development Plan, 44.25 kilometres of roads in the country are to be upgraded.

Projects to improve road quality at various main intersections and congested roads in the country will continue to be implemented.

Meanwhile, the Road Department urged the road users in the area of the new roundabout to observe the road signs and drive with extra care. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
