His Majesty Grants Audiences To
Departing Haj Pilgrims
Bandar Seri
Begawan – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Her
Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha granted separate
audiences to the country's intending pilgrims at Istana Nurul Iman
yesterday.
The intending pilgrims received a
special treatment upon entering the palace.
Soon after registering their name,
they were served with buffet style lunch.
After the lunch, they later performed
the mass zohor prayers.
It is a special opportunity for the
intending pilgrims to personally meet and extend their greetings to
His Majesty and other members of the royal family.
The Sultan received male intending
pilgrims. With His Majesty was His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haji Al
Muhtadee Billah.
Brunei’s Haj pilgrims for the first
flight are now in the city of Medina.
More than 20 Haj medical officers
from the Ministry of Health have been assigned to look after the
health and welfare of the pilgrims while in the holy cities of Mecca
and Medina for this year Haj season.
The first flight of Brunei’s
intending pilgrims left for the holy city of Mecca last Wednesday.
His Majesty's government through the
Haj Department plays the role in ensuring that the intending pilgrims
are ready to perform the fifth pillar of Islam by preparing them with
Haj courses.
The Haj courses can help the
intending pilgrims to perform their Haj properly.
More than 900 intending pilgrims were
at yesterday afternoon's audiences.
At the other part of Istana Nurul
Iman, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to
receive the female intending pilgrims.
Also present was Her Royal Highness
Princess Hajah Rasihdah Saadatul Bolkiah.
The next Haj flight is scheduled for
today at 1pm.
The fourth Haj flight will leave
Brunei tomorrow to be followed by the fifth flight on Tuesday. The
last flight will depart on Wednesday.
As in the past years, His Majesty
Sultan of Brunei graciously presented the intending pilgrims with the
ihram of Haj ritual dress.
In the meantime, the Haj Management
Department again reminded all of them to send their baggage a day
before departure.
They are reminded to bring along
their passports, tickets, keys to their baggage and other important
documents.
It is also important to always put on
their certification bracelets.
Any books, pamphlets or publication
that can raise queries on the part of Saudi Arabia authorities should
be left behind.
They are also expected to cooperate
with the officers and help facilitate pilgrimage processes.
