Landslide Halts Traffic At Kg Lugu Road To Muara-Tutong

Bandar Seri Begawan – The road connecting from Kampong Lugu to the Muara-Tutong Highway has been temporarily closed as an offshoot of a landslide.

Road users are advised to use the Kampong Lugu main road.

The closure, which is triggered by a landslide affecting part of the road, is a step taken by the authority for safety reasons.

The cause of the landslide is yet to be known. But landslide is possible because the road is located along a hillside where the soil easily erodes due to climate changes.

On arrival at the scene, Radio Television Brunei (RTB) found that the road was already blocked by the Public Work Department in an effort to ensure that the road would not be used for the safety of the public.

The situation worsened when a two-metre crack was found along the road which tended to break anytime.

Heavy rains since several days ago also caused the hill soil to be moist.
