Family Rendered Homeless In Temburong Fire

Temburong – An early morning blaze destroyed a car and levelled to the ground a wooden single storey house at Kampong Belais in the Temburong District yesterday.

The fire destroyed the house and car of Awang Idris Bin Haji Taha and family in Kampong Belais.

All the important documents such as the identity card, passport, bank account book and birth certificates could not be salvaged.

The Fire Preventive Squad from Bangar rushed to the fire scene upon receiving an emergency call at 8.41 am..

According to the Fire Service Department, an unattended cooking was the cause of the fire and forced the affected family to stay temporarily at a relative’s house.

The firemen advised the public to take a lesson from this tragedy where carelessness resulted in grave consequences. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
