Fast Turnout Of Converts
Highlights Islam Growth In Brunei
Tutong
– New converts have turned up fast in Brunei, a proof that
Islamic teaching is developing continuously in this country.
The latest proof so far is the
conversion of 13 people in just a period of nine days since the start
of the New Year as recorded at the Tutong Islamic Dakwah Centre.
For the Tutong District, the dusun
ethnic recorded the highest number of converts last year.
The conversion ceremony for a dusun
family of seven was conducted by religious officials from the Dakwah
Unit at Kampong Sinaut, in the Tutong District yesterday.
Awang
Johny Bin Ngawan, head of the family, is now known as Muhamad
Ihsanuddin Bin Ngawan.
He works as a civilian in the
Ministry of Defence.
Among those present at the ceremony
was Pehin Major General Dato Seri Haji Awang Halbi, Commander of the
