MOD holds doa selamat for pilgrims

The Ministry of Defence (MOD)
yesterday held a Doa Selamat for its officers and staffs who will be
going for the haj pilgrimage this year. The ceremony is an annual
programme for their staffs who are going to perform the haj.
Prayers were said for the pilgrims to
have a safe and peaceful journey during their pilgrimage.
During the ceremony, the intending
pilgrims were presented donations in hopes that it would help ease any
problems that should arise when they perform the haj in the Holy Land.
The Doa Selamat was held yesterday at
the Bolkiah Garrison Surau and was attended by the Acting Minister of
Defence, Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji
Ibnu Ba'asith bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong who was
the guest of honour. The guest of honour also presented the donations
at the ceremony.
This year more than 1,400 Bruneians
will be performing the haj, with the second group of pilgrims flying
off today, followed by three more flights on January 11 till January
13.
