Family home burnt down in Kg Belais

A wooden single-storey house in Kampong Belais of the Temburong District was gutted by a fire yesterday morning, RTB reported last night.

A fire preventive squad from Bangar, upon receiving an emergency call at 8.41 am, rushed to the scene.

This blaze destroyed the home of Awg Idris Hj Taha and family.

All important documents such as identity cards, passports, bank account books and birth certificates as well as their car could not be salvaged.

According to the Fire Services Department, unattended cookery was its cause and has forced the affected to stay temporarily with relatives.
