New Roundabout At Jln Sungai Akar

Bandar Seri Begawan - Work at the new two-lane roundabout at the intersection of Jln Sungai Akar-Muara relief road is almost complete. The new roundabout is scheduled to be open tomorrow (January 10).

Traffic signals at the intersection will be switched off and later removed. After the roundabout is put into use, work will still go on to complete remaining kerbs, drains and road surfacing to give vehicles a smooth ride.

Motorists have been advised to drive with extra caution and to observe the temporary speed limits during construction work.

Effective Saturday, motorists going to town centre, Subok/Sg Akar, Muara/ Jln Kota Batu (Mentiri) will have to use the roundabout.

Personnel from the National Road Safety Council, Public Works Department and traffic police will be stationed at the roundabout Saturday to have a closer look at the traffic flow.
