Trio Fined For No Passport Stamps
By Rol Ezam

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two Indonesian men and a woman were each fined $800 or a month imprisonment yesterday for failing to produce their passports to the Immigration Officer upon leaving the country for Limbang.

Ali Wardana, 31, Budi Santoso Karsosuwito, 29, and Nuryaida Subari, 27, admitted to the offence.

They managed to leave the state through the Immigration Control Post Kuala Lurah without being detected by the authorities and returned soon after in order to gain their stay in this country.

Upon their arrival on the same day, all of them were stopped by the Immigration Officer on duty at the Control Post. The officer upon examination was doubtful about the defendants’ passports and found that there was no departure stamp from Brunei in their passports. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
