Just over a week into the new year, the Tutong Dakwah Islamiah Centre has welcomed more Muslim converts comprising four Dusun families.

The number of Muslim converts is rising steadily in Brunei Darussalam.

The Tutong Dakwah Islamiah Centre yesterday disclosed that last year, 125 people of different races such as Thai, Filipino, Chinese and Dusun converted to Islam. The Dusuns recorded the highest number of Muslim converts in Tutong district.

Commencing on January 5th, 2004, 12 new Muslim converts are attending a two-week course organised by the Tutong Dakwah Islamiah Centre.

The course aims to enhance their understanding of Islam and to teach them the Islamic way of life.

The course is part of the Tutong Dakwah Islamiah Centre's efforts to guide new converts on the teachings of Islam.
