New Students Reminded To Be
Patriotic
Bandar Seri
Begawan – New students of the Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical
College are reminded to instil a sense of patriotism in the contexts
of their studies.
Pengiran
Haji Suhaimi, acting principal of the college, made this reminder at
the orientation and registration day of the new 39th intake of January
2004 session.
He said that this is not only to
encourage them to love their own country but also to help them
discipline themselves, be loyal and improve their skills in the
technical field.
According to him, Brunei will
celebrate the 20th National Day and this will directly give them the
sense of patriotism, particularly in achieving success in education.
“Students must also be dynamic in
terms of being active and alert on the current development in and
outside the country.
“Having great knowledge and
creativity without totally depending on teachers will also help them
to develop their mind and experience and this will directly help the
country to produce dynamic students,” he added.
A total of 60 new students will begin
their three-year courses starting from the certificate level to
pre-diploma.
Some 24 students will study aircraft
engineering while 16 students have enrolled for the national
pre-diploma of science, 12 in basic cookery, basic food and beverage
service course, and 6 others have chosen vehicle body engineering.
