Teguh Harapan holds small business
course

The Trade Development Unit, under the
Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, entrusted a local company,
Teguh Harapan Management Service with the opportunity to organise and
facilitate a three-day course in small business management.
The course, from December 29-31,
2003, was held at the Continuing Education section of the Department
of Technical Education.
Thirty-five people, including small
business managers, took part in the course.
Teguh
Harapan was the course consultant while two experts in
entrepreneurship, Professor Madya Matyasin Jamil and Ag Bakar Ag Tatam
from the University of Technology Mara (UiTM), Sabah, Malaysia were
invited as guest speakers.
During the workshop, participants
were exposed to important factors such as Introduction to Small
Business Management & Entrepreneurship Competency, Business Management
Concepts and Principles, Elements and Methods of Planning and Case
Studies, Employee Recruitment Planning and Case Studies,
Organisational Structure, Business Leadership, Time and Financial
Management as well as case studies.
One participant, Awang Serudin Awang
Damit, found the course beneficial, especially to aspired small
business entrepreneurs.
A closing ceremony was held on
December 31 where participants were presented with a certificate of
participation by Acting Director of Technical Education Haji Md Daud
bin Hj Mahmud.
