St George's School is currently
holding its Orientation Programme to welcome the New Year and as a
refresher course for its students. Many activities have been prepared
for the students, who have been divided according to their class
levels.
For Primary One to Three, the
activities include introduction to the school, formal introduction of
their class and subject teachers, short tour of the school - which
will benefit the new students - a run down of basic classroom
behaviour, perfecting the singing of the National and School Anthems
and games to break the ice among students. For Primary Four to Six
students, in addition to the list of activities carried out they will
also be briefed on the importance of the PSR exams, while students of
Form One to Three will be briefed on the importance of the PMB exam.
Meanwhile, Form Four to Five students
will be briefed on the options of subjects they can take, basic
classroom behaviours, the school's rules and their responsibilities
toward the school, perfecting the singing of the National and School
Anthems and the importance of the 'O' Level exam.
According to Ms Adrenne, a teacher of
the school, the orientation programme is conducted at every start of
the school year. It is aimed not only to welcome back the old students
but also to welcome new students. By incorporating the new students in
the orientation programme, it will create a sense of belonging to the
school.
The orientation programme will also
act as a refresher course for the old students, just in case they may
have forgotten the basic rules and responsibilities over the long
holiday.
The orientation programme is divided
according to the class level of the students to ensure its smooth
running. Yesterday saw the Form Three students undergoing the
Orientation Programme.
