The way to fusion-join the pipes
Leaking and corroded pipes will be a
thing of the past for house owners, thanks to the latest German
technology that makes its way to Brunei Darussalam.
Through the technology, entitled
Aquatherm Fusiontherm, several pipes can be joined together using
fusion heat, making away the need to join them using clamps and other
conventional methods.
A hands-on training on the latest
technology will be provided by the German firm through its local sole
distributor Aman Setia Company on Monday January 26 at the Training
Centre, Ministry of Communication at the Old Airport, Berakas.
Serina
Abdullah, the Manager of Aman Setia said the course will be attended
by about 100 participants comprising government officers, contractors,
plumbers and plumbing students currently studying at technical and
vocational institutions nationwide.
However, she added those who are
interested to attend the free training can contact her at 8838139 as
the company could still accommodate more people.
"The course will be conducted by
Bernd Emmert from the Aquatherm Fusiontherm and if there are more
participants, we can arrange another training the next day on January
27," said Serina.
The latest plumbing system employs
socket fused joints at 260 degrees Celsius, polypropylene injection
moulded fittings and nickel-plated end connectors.
The fusion-joined pipes are durable
and can last more than 100 years despite having a theoretical service
life of 50 years. The strongest point of the pipes is the ones joined
by fusion.
The plumbing system can be used not
only to transfer hot and cold water but is also safe for the transfer
of milk, carbonated drinks, liquid food substances, fluids, gases,
acids, chemicals and compressed air.
"It is not only for households but
also for commercial, industrial, mining, marine and agricultural
applications," said Serina.
She added that the plumbing system is
certified by German Research Laboratory as the most hygienic of all
pipe material substances for the transfer of water.
"It is also internationally
acknowledged with a hospital grade hot and cold water pipe system not
susceptible to the effects of Microbiologically Induced Corrosion
(MIC).
"Apart from those, the system
includes all the necessary components, provides energy-savings,
in-place costing and time savings, recurrent cost savings,
environmentally responsible alternative and comes with manufacturers'
warranties," she added.
Aman
Setia is also registered with the Ministry of Development as the
approved distributor of the product, which has attained a ASO 9001
certification.
