New Converts Receive Financial Aids To Perform Haj

Bandar Seri Begawan – Eight new converts have received Haj fares and other financial aids to perform the Haj this year from His Majesty Sultan of Brunei and the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.

Each convert received a total of $6,500.

The $3,500 came from His Majesty and the balance $3,000 came from tithe collection of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.

The converts also presented with another $1,000 from the tithe collection of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council for their living expenses while in Mecca.

The donations were presented by Awang Haji Abdul Wahar, Acting Secretary of the Islamic Religious Council.

Several converts have expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for his consent and kindness to provide the financial assistance and to the Islamic Religious Council.
