40 students accepted into MTSSR

New students at MTSSR
Forty individuals had been accepted
into Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College (MTSSR) and were briefed by
the college registrar yesterday morning during the registration
ceremony at the school's Silver Jubilee Hall.
Out of the 39th intake's students, 12
will be undertaking a National Trade Certificate 3 in basic cookery,
basic food and beverage service, 16 will be pursuing a BDTVEC
Pre-National Diploma in science, eight will undertake a National Trade
Certificate 3 in vehicle body engineering and 24 will be pursuing a
Pre-National Diploma in aircraft engineering.
During the ceremony, registrar Cikgu
Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar said the new students should feel fortunate,
as it was a competition school to gain entry into.
He explained that the educational
system at MTSSR was different from that of a secondary school because
the college concentrated on the quality of training.
He disclosed that the students would
receive $140 per month allowance, though lengthy procedure meant
distribution could be postponed.
The students will undergo two-day
orientation, commencing January 7 at 8.30am.
Also present at the ceremony were
Deputy Principal of Education and Training Cikgu Norzainab binti Haji
Ladi, Head of Mechanical Division Cikgu Hashim, as well as teachers
from various departments in MTSSR.
