5 Students To Promote Brunei Cult
In Laos

Begawan - In an effort to attract tourism to the country, five
students accompanied by a teacher left for Laos yesterday afternoon to
promote the culture of Brunei Darussalam.

Hj Johari. Ummi Hani binti Hj Abd Halim, Abd Malik bin Faizal Hj Yahya,
Syazwani binti Hj Shahibulbahari and Abd Aziz bin Momin - were
accompanied by Cikgu Metusin OKS bin Hj Tuba.
Cikgu
Metusin, who is the head of the Brunei delegation explained, prior to
their flight to Laos, that they will be attending the Asean COCI
(Community on Cultural Information) Camp.
The Brunei delegation will promote
Brunei's culture and its places of interest other delegates from ten
other Asean member countries and Japan, he said.
The leader of the group, Mohd Fizree
said that during the two-week stay in Laos, the group will represent
Brunei in a bazaar and exhibition, which will provide in depth
information about Brunei Darussalam to the people of Laos.
He added that the group brought along
local delicacies like local traditional dry food and ambuyat to be
showcased at the exhibition.
They also brought traditional musical
instrument and most importantly, five art works on Brunei drawn by
each member of the Brunei delegation.
In preparation for the camp, the
students have been rehearsing their presentation of a musical drama
about Brunei for the past three months.
Mohd
Fizree also said that the group would do research, attend a workshop
and would present a paper in Laos.
The delegates expressed their
appreciation to the MIPR and the Information Department of the Prime
Minister's Office for helping them obtain the relevant information on
Brunei Darussalam, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for giving them
the opportunity to represent Brunei Darussalam.
