Haj Season Begins This Week

Begawan - With the first Haj flight scheduled to depart from
Brunei on the 7th January 2004, various preparations are in place such
as organising thanksgiving ceremonies for the Haj pilgrims.
Besides reference manuals taken along
to help perform the Haj, in keeping with the pace of modern
technology, a local distributor has introduced “e-Haj”, a high-tech a
digital audio playback unit.
The mini e-Haj unit, is designed
especially for Haj and Umrah pilgrims to sharpen their meories with
all the phrases of ‘Doa’ (prayer) and ‘Niat’ recitations picked and
packed from a handbook of prayers to use in Mecca. At the price of
$120 a unit, this audio digital unit is available at Mas Munirah at
No.19, Simpang 425, Kg. Lambak.
Meanwhile 10 personnel from the
Jabatan Urusan Haji of the Ministry of Religious Affairs as well as
eight officials from the Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd led by Awang Haji
Ahmad Hj Abdul Razak also left the country last night.
Present to greet the officers from
the Religious Affairs Ministry at the Brunei Airport was the Acting
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Awang Haji
Mohd Yussof bin Hj Ismail.
According to Awang Haji Ahmad, the
officials departed the country in advance to make preparations on
hotels, transportation and passport arrangement before the departure
of the first Haj-pilgrims from Brunei Darussalam on the January 7.
