Fund For Iraqis Soars To $134,000

Begawan – The humanitarian fund for the Iraqi civilians has
continued to receive financial assistance from the generous public in
the country.
The fund received more than $13,300
yesterday.
A donation of $8,000 came from the
Nursing Service Department at the Ministry of Health.
It was presented by Dr Awang Haji
Affendy, Director-General of the Medical Services at the ministry.
Meanwhile, the Takmir and Muslimah
Commitee of the Kampong Bunut Mosque, in cooperation with Kampong
Bunut Perpindahan, Kampong Tasek Meradun-Bunut and Kampong Madewa
Consultative Councils donated more than $5,300.
It was presented by the member of
executive committee, Pengiran Haji Matassan to Awang Haji Jemat,
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, who
is also the co-chairman of the national committee of the humanitarian
fund of the Iraqi civilians.
Since the fund was introduced in
April last year, the fund managed to collect more than $134,000 from
65 donors.
The fund, which was closed on the
October 13, 2002, is still open to receive the public contribution.
