Castaway theme at Sheraton Party

Guests having fun at the Sheraton New Year's eve party.

It can be a real jungle out there but on New Year's eve, it was a real jungle in here too! Based on the famous "Castaway" movie, Sheraton Utama's 2003 New Year's Eve theme set itself the goal of providing a total experience of "Castaway - An Island Jungle".

With the generous assistance and support of FedEx, the hotel successfully created an ambience reflective of a castaway's experience captured in the movie from sights to sounds to tastes.

Castaway movie maps out the solitary life of Chuck Noland - a FedEx trouble-shooter whose chartered flight crashed over the South Pacific leaving him stranded on an island for four years with a Wilson ball as his only source of companionship.

The visual focal point of Sheraton Utama's new year's eve theme event was the FedEx plane wreck found crashing through one of our Tasek Brasserie glass doors with the nose half floating in the pool.

The buck did not stop there - Wilson balls were seen displayed around the hotel along with FedEx materials that had been 'rescued' from the chartered flight.

Exciting prizes were presented in FedEx packaging material to lucky draw winners who purchased their tickets to the event well in advance.
