Two donations to Iraqis Aid Fund

Yesterday saw two organisations presenting donations to the "Iraqis Humanitarian Aid Fund" at the At-Taqwa Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

On hand to receive the donations was guest of honour Awg Haji Jemat bin Haji Ampal, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The first donation was presented by Dr. Haji Affendy bin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Director of Health Services, on behalf of the Nursing Services Department, Ministry of Health. The $8,000 donation was raised during the celebration of the International Nurses and Midwives Day last year.

The Takmir/Muslimah Working Committee of Kg Bunut Mosque, in cooperation with the consultative councils of Kg Bunut Perpindahan, Kg Tasek Meradun-Bunut and Kg Madewa, presented the second donation of $5,384. Acting Chairman of the Takmir/Muslimah Working Committee Pg Haji Metassan Pg Bakar was on hand to present the donation to the fund.

The guest of honour, on behalf of the ministry, handed both representative with a letter of appreciation.

To date, the fund has collected $134,307.94 from a number of benevolent organisations and individuals.

Organisations or individuals that wish to make a donation are advised to do so as soon as possible.
