Clean-up at Muara-Tutong Highway
By Azlan Othman
Officials from the Public Works
Department and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation and
labourers this morning will clean up the rubbish dumped
indiscriminately along the Muara-Berakas highway.
Two sites have been identified,
namely, the empty car park at Lambak Kiri and at the empty site at
Lambak Kanan.
The two agencies urged residents
living in the area not to dump rubbish indiscriminately but instead to
throw away their garbage at the Sungai Akar dumping site or to go the
compactors located, among others at Tungku and Jln Sungai Besar in
Muara.
The authorities also urged the people
to subscribe to the rubbish-collecting service that goes from house to
house for a fee of between $10-$15 a month.
