Royal messages for Myanmar

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Lt. General Khin Nyunt, the Prime Minister of Myanmar, and Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of Myanmar, on the occasion of the Independence Day of Myanmar.

In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly and deep understanding that had so long been established between Brunei and Myanmar. His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.

Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a congratulatory message to his Myanmar counterpart, U Win Aung.

His Royal Highness said he is pleased with the warm relations between the two countries and happy to meet the Myanmar Foreign Minister during the Asean-Japan Commemorative Summit in Japan and looked forward to continuing to work with him to strengthen the bilateral and regional cooperation.
