Local Company Awarded First Major Subcontract

Bandar Seri Begawan - A local joint-venture company was recently awarded the major BSP Contract for Offshore Construction and Maintenance Services.

In line with their objectives to support local industry and enhance their Bruneianisation programme, SKSWood recently awarded its first subcontract to a local company, PTAS Inspection and Testing Services Sdn Bhd (PTAS-ITS), December 14, 2003.

PTAS-ITS is the first locally registered 100 percent owned Bruneian inspection company and presently holds contracts with Brunei Shell Petroleum, Brunei LNG, Brunei Shell Marketing, Total E&P Borneo and several other companies in Brunei.

The company has branch offices in neighbouring Malaysia and Australia with ongoing inspection contracts in Indonesia and India. The high priority and focus that the company has put on local development has led to a current Bruneian content of 60 percent, a major achievement in the oil and gas industry.
