Back To School Again In Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei school children are back to school today after their longest vacation of the year.

Having passed a few celebrations including Hari Raya, the young ones are all spruced up today to meet their challenges at school.

Not only is it the first day of school for children throughout the four districts, it is also the first day at work for newly appointed primary and secondary school teachers of Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

They have undergone immediate medical check-ups and briefing sessions conducted by the Ministry of Education before school started today.

Even the bookstores were crowded yesterday with parents doing last minute shopping.

The Curriculum Development Department of the Ministry of Education in a meeting with bookstores recently had made sure a smooth supply of books for the students before school.

A hotline service has also been set-up to enable textbook suppliers and retailers to contact the department for inquiries relating to recommended title. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
