‘Papat Jambul' ceremony

Traditional Malay customs such as the 'Zikir,' 'Mandi Berlawat' and 'Papat Jambul' are nowadays still carried out. 'Papat Jambul' is an important ceremony, whereby friends and relatives gather to snip off

a lock of hair from a baby. Picture shows the 'Papat Jambul' being performed on Awg Mohd Akmal Asrah, aged 21 months old, last Thursday at Kg Sengkarai in Tutong.
