Bruneian celebrates his 104th birthday

In celebrating New Year, the elderly was not left out. In a show of appreciation for them, 'Hari Warga Tua' functions were held in all four of Brunei's districts.

The family of Awg Hj Mohd Yusof Hj Besar was busy preparing a 'Doa Selamat' gathering for his father, Awg Hj Besar Taha, whose 104th birthday coincided with the New Year.

He marked the arrival of 2004 together with his 9 children, 59 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 2 three-week-old great-great-grandchildren and other close relations.

Awg Hj Mohd Yusof said that even though his father is 104, he still performs Jemaah prayers at a nearby mosque.
